602 - The port is already open

The port may be in use by another device or another application, such as fax software or an Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Try the following:

Please exit the other program or restart Windows to free the port.

If that doesn't work, reboot your computer to free the port -- turn your computer off, wait a minute, then turn it back on. Now try to re-connect.

If that doesn't work, and you feel confident enough to locate and modify init strings in your computer, add the init string atz to your modem and reboot your computer.

If that doesn't work, remove the atz init string and refer to a qualified technician.

If the problem persists, contact a qualified technician.
